At night, from July to September, and sometimes extending into October, Tortuguero offers one of nature's most captivating spectacles during the nesting season of the Green turtle (Chelonia mydas). For the best experience, attendees are required to wear dark clothing, maintain quietness, refrain from smoking, and avoid bringing any photographic equipment.
